Identify short shifter

Any idea which shifter this is?

It’s making an awful vibrating/shaking noise when in gear and under throttle. It’s so bad, I may look into just putting an OEM 1 in.

I had a very similar shifter in my FD, the top plate was gold versus your shifter’s black but otherwise it looked identical. My one was made in Australia, I forget the company but it rattled like crazy under acceleration and also transmitted transmission noise.

I changed it it out with a rebuilt OEM assembly, and never looked back. One of the best changes I have made.

OEM FTW. I had a Pettit/Mazdaspeed SS for a while. IMO one of the dumbest mods I ever did...and it didn’t rattle. OEM is already short. All the SS did was add effort and remove smoothness.

^I agree, I've yet to find a short shifter that was as good as a stock shifter with good bushings.

All that said, it kind of looks like the B&M short shifter. I think that's one of the few that replaces the whole top of the transmission. Many others (Mazdaspeed) just bolt to the stock shifter tower and have a round aluminum spacer.

Looks like a knock-off B&M. The base would be annodized blue on a real B&m.

It's a Cubespeed.

Just checked their site and I believe you’re right. I emailed them to see if they had any suggestions on fixing it. Thanks!

Looks like a B&M style shifter. I had one for a while and did not like it. It was very notchy and took more effort to shift. I have since switched to a Mr. C's Mazdaspeed style shifter and like that much better.
