Idea for Headlights (corvette c5 units)
 

Hey guys,

So as you all know stock FD headlights aren't exactly bright and the only options are maybe the bixenon kit that costs 1k and that's it.

However, I came up with an idea that I don't know if it's possible and I wanted to share it with you.

I saw some 240sx s13s that had modified their popup headlights and installed Acura NSX headlights in them. From what they said it's an expensive mod but it's worth it since the NSX has two different bulbs for low and high beams.

The only other car that has the same popup headlight design as the NSX but parts are cheaper to get is the C5 Corvette.

Now the question is:

Would it be possible to fit C5 headlights in the FD popup design?

I know they would have to sit lower than stock because of their smaller shape.

What do you think?

They're not blue or white or yellow, but my Sylvania Silver Stars are plenty bright for me. Have no idea what's involved in trying to adapt C5 Corvette headlights, but almost positive it's not worth the money or trouble. At least not to me. Go for it, keep receipts and take pictures to report back.

I have used these and they make a huge difference. I'm actually concerned about other drivers but I've never been in front of the car when they've been on. Looks like they have a good cutoff so perhaps I'm just concerned about a little bit of scattered light? The street signs all absolutely light up with them.

The only catch is I had to trim the plastic frame behind the bulbs a little bit to get them to fit. There is a huge fan that hangs off the back of them. Perhaps there are newer slimmer models out there?

That's an interesting idea. The Bi-xenon kit is one of the best modifications I've done to my car, by far! I may be a bit biased, but there's been plenty of people who have told me the same thing. They're pricey, but not as expensive as fixing a wrecked car due to terrible lighting haha.
