I think I am an idiot
last thrusday I switched my plugs for the first time since owning my fd. I was having problems all weekend with hesitation at 5000 rpm or so, and thought it was my fuel issue, and I just took it really easy on the car all weekend. I am now pretty sure that I switched the bottom two plug wires. I have been told that you can run w/o these plugs on, thought probably not a smart thing to do.... this makes sence yes?
and yes, I am an idiot! :) |

Haha, well I'm not sure if you mixed them up or not, but your bottom plugs are your leading (main) plugs, the top ones are the trailing (more or less emissions plugs). If you WERE going to run without 2, it'd be the top two, wouldnt recommend it with the bottom ones. :) I'm too tired to think and tell you which wire should go where. I'm sure someone else will think for me. |
hmmm....
maybe that is not the cause for my new found lack of power.... would someone be so kind as to post a pic/drawing of the plug diagram so I can check? that would be fantastic! also, if it isn't this, anyone have any other ideas? it is new since I replaced my plugs.... |
I believe the leading plugs fire at same time so it wouldn't matter if you switch the bottom 2.

what if I mixed up the top two?
I was hoping this was my problem.... cause I don't know where to go if this isn't it. |

ok....
could going with NGK 9s all around with my setup be causing the huge hesitation at 5000 rpm? my mods: PFS SMIC PFS ECU PFS intake PFS dp RB cat back efini y-pipe |
put the old ones back and see what happens then. I mean you could just swap the wires back and forth (much easier than removing plugs), but maybe one the the wires are not in all the way. Give it a try and let us know.
