i got butter in my oil!!

i went to add some oil in my car today and when i opened up the top i saw what looked like butter/snot! Just like in a piston engine when you blow a head gasket... im worried if this is a major problem or not. I read another thread on this board and a guy said that condensation could of caused it...?? I have smoke coming out the tail pipe but i think its because im running rich. The cars drives fine and under boost i blow some blueish black smoke sometimes but i havent seen any white smoke. I changed the oil and it looked fine ....any advice

does the smoke smell sweet?

if everything is running fine, i personally, wouldn't worry about it too much, but i would keep an eye on the oil. check your level frequently and make sure its not going up. if it is, you could be getting some coolant into it. maybe replace it again in 500 miles or so and see if you get the same "butter" stuff on it.

Typically it's condensation, usually from short drives that don't allow the car to get to full operating temp or to stay at operating temp long enough to dry it out. It also seems to be more common in spring or fall, probably because it's cooler out.

Condensation in filler neck

I get this all the time, especially when it is cool out. If you are not losing coolant, don't worry about it.

Ham on rye with 90w gear oils tastes pretty good too.

yep.

my old GSL-SE had a bad thermostat, and did this by far the worst of any rx7 I've had.
