Hydroplained into a Gaurd Rail

This just shows that when your tires are showing baldness, that means that you need tires..don't wait! I have to replace my front bumper and i need to replace the plastic piece that covers the raditor. Alwayz something..

Time to buy that new Cwest front end! hehehe :D

Sorry to hear about it :(

raven,

...been there.....done that :( .

except i went thru the median backwards into the other lanes of oncoming traffic on the local interstate. luckily there was no one coming -- it was about midnight at the time. i jammed the brakes while i was going thru the median so when i hit the pavement it would hopefully pick up some traction & slow me down -- it did and spun me around and i hit the guard rail with my back-end. i had slowed down a good bit when i hit the pavement, so the damage wasn't that bad -- busted tail-light and a little damage to the bumper & quarter panel. it was under $1000 total parts/labor/paint, etc. i think a bulk of the bill was that replacement tail-light :)

....and yes -- the tires were BALD. just trying to get the most out of the original tires. i got 34k miles out of the original/stock Bridgestones. i thought that was pretty good for a Z-rated tire :) needless to say, the next stop after i got it out of the shop was to get new tires for it.

...hydropaning SUCKS....especially when you start to spin. all you can do is hold on & enjoy the ride :)

I hear you R1 --- spinning backwards isn't fun

the second day i had my fd, i slid at about 50mph in a curve and barly missed the sidewalk. it was raining and i was new to all this hp as well as a manual. it scared the sh*t out of me! my tires were pretty good so it also shows you what happens when you have more hp then your tires can handle.

more hp than your tires could handle or more hp than you could handle? heheh, j/k.

Picking up my FD this weekend, lets hope I'm not posting again in this thread next week! :)

Were all 4 tires bald or F or R only? Just curious. My back ones were a little older and I have since moved them to the front to even out the wear. I had a loss of rear traction due to wetness once and it's fine since.

bald tires on the back
