How to spend $8000+ on carbon fiber doors

Saw these on re-amemiya website, they are a new offering at 346500Y/$4150USD EACH, so figure two doors plus shipping would basically be like $8600usd. No specifics on weight but they are made out of dry carbon. Just thought it was something interesting I came across... Onto the goods:

no thanks, even if i was a millionaire i wouldn't buy it, but thats just me.

looks like where you open the door seems a little thinner, would if fit the latch through to even open the door?..

pretty, very pretty, but there doesnt seem to be much of a lip to bod lexan windows to it? you arent telling me this uses normal glass?! I am guessing the usual issue of needing a rollcage holds as well.

The price makes sense if they are Dry Carbon. Most people don't realize the difference between Wet and Dry.

Or you could order a set from Carbonman for about $5,000 (AUS) a set. At least last I checked.

I wonder what would happen if you get T boned by another car with that door.

:tank: It wouldn't be good. These doors are only meant for cars with full cages, which would include door bars. Not exactly street friendly or cheap.

yes, but is it proper autoclaved prepreg dry carbon or vac bagged carbon? or resin infused vac bagged? unfortunatly a lot of different methods get called dry carbon, and the properties and cost to manufacture vary vastly.
