How to ship an FD fender?
I bought a front FD fender off another forum member, and we are having problems with shipping. Everywhere he took it said $150 to $200 to ship it, due to size restrictions. So you guys who have shipped something this large, how did you do it?

ship it VIA grayhound.
u know... the BUS. call them up... it is MUCH cheaper! let everyone know what you find out |
definately greyhound. we just shipped a hood off my girlfriend's prelude from kentucky to michigan for $50

they are giving you crap about shipping a fender? Strange.... I bought a set of fenders from a guy in cali he wrapped them each in bubble wrap, then taped them together. Slapped a ups sticker on them and away they went.

New fenders are about $175-200 from your local dealer. New, no extra paint, no dents, no shipping...

You mean they come painted?

Shipping
I have shipped a set of side skirts before, which are alot longer than fenders without a problem for something like $25-$35 at UPS. I work at UPS and believe me, there are some really large boxes that go through on a daily basis. The thing with UPS is the distance that it is being shipped. If its close it will be alot cheaper. If its across the country, your looking alot of money regardless of size.

It's coming from TX to FL, so not really that far. And I want this one, BECAUSE it's painted. It's already the same color as my car, no need to repaint.

It isn't the same color as your car. If it wasn't painted the same day and then kept in the same conditions, sun, rain, etc then it'll be a different color, it'll be close but not the same.

True, but prob not enough difference to notice. Closer than any paint shop can match. I got a used spoiler off a forum member a while back, and there is NO difference in the paint. No way anyone could tell.
