how to on resurfacing flywheel?
 

can you do this yourself? see I had a shop rebuild my engine and told them to do it but they didnt and now its back on the engine. I dont feel like taking it off and bringing it to a shop

I have every sanding tool available does it have to go to a shop?

If your going to do that, i would just block sand it with 400 till you smooth it out the best you can. Maybe 320 at the most.

It's a stepped flywheel and is pinned so it cost a bit more than non-stepped.

There are alot of places that do it. Should be about 80 bucks.

if you have an upgraded pressure plate i would consider looking into shims if they have to take a lot out.

mine was glazed for a while. It was due to the pressure plate bolts not tightened down, bad mech. So I pull them out through the service holes and I added loc-tite then to tightened them down.
You can unglze a flywheel by getting it hot (let the clutch slip, but not too much) and then shut it down and let it cool. The surfaces will unglaze. I didn't think it would work when I heard it, but I trusted this person. Never the less it worked and I spent $1000 on clutch parts that weren't needed yet.

ill have to bite the bullet and send mine out to be done with the clutch
just want the car to be flawless for tuning

The local NAPA can resurface the flywheel. They will do it for about 50 bucks. Other shops may, call around. Takes about 30seconds, you can stand there and wait for it.
