How to remove the sunroof shade?
I have the entire sunroom assemble out of my car and i need to remove the shade to get to the 4 bolts behind it. What is the best way to remove the shade without breaking the clips that keep it in place? Also should I have the roof closed or open to do this right now it is cracked open like 1/2 inch.
Thanks, Shogun |
oops it is supposed to say sunroof not sunroom lol :)
|
anyone?
|
are you talking about the part that matches your interior?? if so i have mine off and if i remember right it just clips on there
|
do you need to have the sunroof all the way open to remove it?
|
If you mean moon roof then you will have to plug it back in and open it to get the shade out.
|
It just pulls down, kind of like a ball and socket thype attachment.

Come to think about it are you talking about a glass roof panel or the metal one ? ? ? I'm now thinking if your saying sun shade that it's an insert that blocks the sun totally from the glass roof panel. If that's what your talking about do you want to get rid of it ? ? ? ?

yea i was sorta confused there for a second...cause mine roof has a metal top that's pretty much invisible from the outside since its painted same as the rest od the body...and removing the tan interior cover underneither it would really be completely useless..i didnt know they made a fullglass version, that would be nice.
did thsoe come on certain models? if so i want one lol, if not then can they be bought aftermarket like that? |

I've got one and have yet to locate the interior shade for it. The liner to your metal roof panel is easy to pop out, it would most likely be easier if th roof was open. |
It is a metal one. I plugged the assembly back in but the actuator wont move. Is there some sort of cut off switch that prevents it from moving? I was thinking that maybe the assembly needs to ground to the car to move the actuator but since I am at work I cannot test it out.

94 touring - whoot! Mine just has the glass with a film on it. I wish I had a shade, cuz on hot days, that sun just melts my forehead.
