how to remove center vent'? and disable buzzer?
ive searched and found next to nothing on both. I need to disable the buzzer for the low coolant *my coolant is FULL* and remove the center vent, located above the radio.
yes I am aware disabling the buzzer could be a very bad idea. I watch all of my gauges like a hawk. |
Yes desabling the coolant level switch is stupid and nobody can watch gauges like a hawk, that is why alarms are there. My recommendation is to repair it, which is extremely easy. However if you absolutely have to disable it, then ground the wire leading to the dash from the sensor and it will quit.
The center vent removal is much, much harder than repairing the coolant sensor. Here is the series of events leading up to removal. 1) Remove the dash instrument cluster 2) Remove the center console ( shifter) cover 3) Remove the Heater/AC panel 4) Now you can reach in and access the screws holding the vent in place. I love how something so simple is blocked by 300 objects you need to remove... fuck life

My sensor wire came out a couple of weeks back. Paid 25GBP for a new one. If you don't have warnings on a after market gauge then its not advisable to dissconnect it.

Wow, did'nt know it was that much trouble to take the center vent out..

Most car vents just pull out, held in by tabs. The FD passenger side vent is held in by tabs, pops right out. However, the center vent is held in by screws. You might think you can get it from the center channel speaker area, but no go. All that I have lined out needs to come out.

Might be on the hard side to "yank out" methinks - if you're serious.....without other consequences!

make sure both plugs are plugged in for you sensor
|
I would bet your low coolant alarm is going off because the wire plug in connector is disconnected close to the spark plugs/ac/ps on the driver's side. It is a single black wire. Feel around, you'll find it. I can't tell you how many ppl's coolant buzzers I have fixed this way. Alot of ppl knock it loose or apart when they are changing their spark plugs.

fuck Ok, here we go....It's gonna be similar to pulling a molar, gonna take some pulling and twisting and it's gonna hurt in the end ! Put a video up for us while pulling that vent out. Later |
I would... but my camera is broke, i think i actually can reach under the vent thru the hole where my radio is. ill post pics.

pics of sensor wires?? thx. its been raining for 4 days straight here.
|
Can't help you there. I'm deployed in Afghanistan. It's a single black wire... look around by the top of the spark plugs by the front rotor housing/power steering pump... it'll be the one disconnected :D

not only is it raining.. its now snowing.... garage time..

Don't yank anything. The Mazda interior is extremely fragile and you are bound to break something else. Fix it the right way. The connector for the coolant buzzer is around the power steering/ac compressor. Some people think its for the ac and leave it disconnected. Plug it back in and your problem should do away. Should be a black connector with a single wire.
