How to remove the......

How do you take off the plastic piece under the front window where the wipers are?

Sgtblue Apr 22, 2010 07:57 PM

Use a small pick and carefully pry up the plastic plugs you'll see on either side. There are screws underneath.

You should invest in a Service manual....
You are always asking for help with the simple things that can be figured out without asking....

better to ask than to break thing. then id be making a WTB PLASTIC thread

but i got the driver side bigger one off. but the small circle ones dont seem to want to budge. i used a very small flathead

just rip that crap off. the more violent you can make it the better it'll feel.

If you chew one up getting it out they're easy to replace. Just a trip to the local salvage yard....

Service Manual can be found online. I'm not mechanically inclined and i even have one. My new user name is "One Screw Drew" thanks to Papsmagu

Word of advice.. Don't pry on the plug near the windshield. I used it as a lever, and it chipped off a little piece of the bottom of my windshield. No big deal? .... Wrong, it's spread into a big crack, now i need a new windshield :(

Sgtblue Apr 23, 2010 03:13 PM

Sounds like you stabbed it in pretty deep to do that. A pick, or even the pointy end of a test light should work. You shouldn't have to pry that hard.

I did kinda break a piece that's why I figured to ask before I kept going, the cover on the far driver side. I'm going to try the rest tomorrow

There are two stickys at the top of the third gen page I think you should read. The first is titled "Tech Manual Directory" and the scond is titled "Please put some thought into the title of your thread before you post!*************** " Read those two and visit some of the links and it will answer all of your questions. Thanks.
