How much should I pay for a bone stock 93 montego blue FD with 25,000 miles
 

Shes a Virgin... All original FD never modded... Carfaxed no accidents, Original Deep shine montego blue paint and well maintained... Garaged kept. Owned by a wealthy woman from Beverly Hills.... only 25,000 miles.... How much is this 93 Rx7 Touring pkg. worth paying for......

At least $18,000. Is it manual or automatic?

im my personal opinion, I probably wouldent pay over $15k for it. Rotaries do not like to sit for long periods of time. I would rather buy a higher mileage car with a new engine. I would hate to see the carbon build up in that engine.

20 bucks says that's a lie lol. Sounds like the typical add for an FD:

xxxx miles, 80% highway miles. owned by wealthy elderly woman. only taken out on sundays. always garaged. never seen rain or snow. 0-60 in xxx seconds, turbos pull very hard, accelerates very well, but never raced.

I actually just purchased an identical car (minus the touring package) and it had 32k miles on it. paid 19 for it, but considdering the condition and my desire to have one, i feel its worth ever last penny. just make sure you check everything out before you do the buying, the tiny little things can add up fast... remember if its only gone 25k in 10 years, that means it wasn't driven very often (2.5k a year), probably didn't have the oil changed but once a year, check for dirt in places it shouldn't be if it were garaged... yadda yadda... my 2 cents

I bought my '94 w/ 23K original miles last year from just such a person - an older, wealthy woman with the car being everything you described above - literally! Car was pampered, garaged, and looked like new, inside and out. She had all documentation on it including the original sticker and invoice. These kind of cars are out there. Waiting for one to show up for sale (and locally) is the hard part. In my case, 8 months.

RX7UP: IMO, the car is worth $18K minimum. If you can get it for less, that would be a steal. :)

In comparison, I bought my bone stock 93 VR R-1 5spd with 35k miles on it almost 5 years ago and paid 21k for it. It was in immaculate condition inside and out. I got it from a dealership in the Chicago area. It was a local trade in, one owner older guy, and had almost all the paperwork with it.

KBB.com has it priced at 14,500...so here is how you figure its real value.

to start with a base add $4,000 to Kbb's price=18,500
Subtract $1,000 for montego puke paint =17,500
Add $500 for a black interior
subtract $500 for a tan interior
Add $1500 if its a 5 speed
subtract $1500 if its an auto.

when you do that, you will get the price.

^:D Zero's estimate may very be if it's in California. Everyone knows how much FDs go for over there.

If you can get it for 18K or less, you are doing very well. It's ALWAYS better to buy a low mileage car if you can find one. That means that it hasn't had the crap beat out of it. Usually the body, paint, and interior on those cars are exceptional.

I got my Stock VR 93 R-1 for $16,500 with 26k miles last year. The car looks and smell new inside and out with no mechanical problem since i owned it. The only thing it need to be changed is the shock absorber, the seal inside the shock are pretty much degraded after 11 years.

At least 18k if the car is really as you described. The thing is, most, like 95%, have major problems like oil leaks or boost problems that need addressing. Its not a big deal but it still costs money. At such a low mileage, with a new interior and paint, and free of such problems, you are in an elite group of RX-7s and that deserves a large premium, imho. Ironically, my car was also owned by a wealthy older lady too, although she didn't drive it like a granny. I remember her remarking how it was a wonderful "feature" having the redline buzzer. Only had 36k miles when I got it though, and very well cared for, but not as pristine as this one sounds.

I paid 14k for mine (93 with 31k original miles) from a lovely woman whose husband died (it was his car). If she is rich and in Beverly Hills she isnt in it for the dough. I would try forming a relationship with her - it may save you some cash. I even send this woman holiday cards and send her letters every now and again.

I would say 15-16k. The market for FD's seems to be shrinking also - the demand isnt as high now that the Fast and Furious stigma is wearing off.

If you form that relationship, maybe you could even get it for 14.

i got mine from San Diego for 8,500. New engine and about 5,000 dollars in other stock components replaced on the car 2 months prior to purchase. So believe me, the deals are out there.

WOW!! FD prices REALLY are dropping!!! i bought my FD in CA 2 years ago.... 1994 montego touring w/70K..... $1699!!! when i bought my car there was the exact swame car as mine (but a 95 w/ 25K on the clock) it went for $25K..... im very sad to see the FD loose so much value recently.... makes me want to sell it while it still runs and i can more than 5 grand for it. really a shame.... the FD may have seen its day

Your comparison isn't even similar. There's a big difference between buying one that LOW miles, bone stock versus high milage with an engine replaced. And I would guess from your price it wasn't in nearly as clean of condition as the one the originial poster is looking at.

Speedking...dont get me wrong. If you caught one of those rare actual real deals... madd props 2 ya. I'm real happy for ya.

But most of the ads I see really get to me... you can tell they're pure bull. Check out ebay and autotrader for a few laughs...

But hey...good things come to those who wait. I'm sure you see the 8 months as well worth it =)

Got if from Ebay last year, actually Oct 2002.... Fly up to Reno and drove it back to LA. But I spend few hundred bucks for flight ticket and hotel.
