How much to sell my 93 RX7

i have a 93 RX7, 83000 miles on it, and it's salvage title.
so many people live around my area asked me for price, and the condition of my car is ..i would say 80% .. would like to get some comments from you guys for the price....... i know salvage title worth nothing, but for FD lovers, it doesn't meant too much. i hope you guys can help me out

thank you

Azcamel 09-26-08 06:16 AM

mods? maintance? pic would help

MyRedFD 09-26-08 09:27 AM

Yes, knowing more about the car and why you say 80% for the condition of it would help.

cptpain 09-26-08 11:07 AM

look in the classified section and compare your car to others that are for sale.

ones that are close to the condition of yours would give you a close range for pricing.

hurleysurf24 09-26-08 02:44 PM

knock off about 60% of the going price for the salvage title.

BC-FD3S 09-26-08 03:57 PM

Well so you can compare, I bought a 93 Touring with 103k miles and a clean title for $9500. It was is pretty minty, aside from needing a new clutch which I did myself. No body damage, interior in great shape and runs strong.

I would say that you found a good deal. That's about what I paid for mine, but it needed a good bit of work. But it is also VR/black interior, with a single turbo :)
I am definately happy with my purchase.

evotechnik 09-26-08 04:17 PM

why is it salvaged? engine fire? Accident?

sevensix 09-26-08 04:36 PM

60% off for salvage what a joke. u're saying a salvage fd, instead of $10000 based on current condition, should be sold for $4000. hilarious.

hurleysurf24 09-26-08 05:24 PM

its a joke huh ... go do some research.
but what do i know .. i've only been through about 30+ cars, meh

MyRedFD 09-26-08 05:50 PM

It depends on what made it receive the salvage title. It doesn't automatically drop the value 60%.

notveryhappyjack 09-26-08 06:42 PM

7k tops, post a pic

moconnor 09-26-08 06:44 PM

60% seems high. I think it is closer to 40% in general.

Of course, I have no idea what 80% condition means.

sevensix 09-26-08 08:39 PM

hurley maybe you should consider where you get your information. i'd hate to think that after 30 car purchases u still dont know much about used car prices, any quick review of fd prices v. salvage v. clean. would prove you wrong.

hurleysurf24 09-26-08 09:47 PM

go prove me wrong then. a clean fd with lets say 100,000 miles on it, unmolested minimal to no mods would go for around 13000ish. The instant you say its salvaged it drops to around 6-7000 dollars.

Go look at recent for sales on her, autotrader, and dealer auctions.

F.T.P. rotaryrocket 09-26-08 10:27 PM

i though salvage would be even lower. it's hard to get it titled in some states especially pa. good luck though

Autotrader does not list selling prices - they list asking prices; and auction prices are well below private party selling prices. $10k-$11k is about the private party price for a average condition 100k+ mile car - $13k would be a lot unless the car were close to mint. $7k is about right for this car.

juicyjosh 09-26-08 10:48 PM

hmmm

i'm agreeing with sevensix on this one .... to sell an FD for only 4 grand ?!?! ... looks like someone retracted their statement and is now proclaiming 7 grand ....

doesn't matter how many cars you've had dude ...

pics and more information about the car would be beneficial here.

Stock as a rock 93 for $9500... not bad :icon_tup:

Hitokiri_Gensai 09-27-08 12:05 AM

Salvage and Rebuilt are different too...
like my car had a salvage title but was rebuilt and was done right, has "rebuilt" stamped right on the title.

sadly mods to not increase bluebook value

RotorDream 09-27-08 01:35 AM

does bluebook ask you about mods? no. hence how would it be possible for it to increase? bluebook is an estimate of the value of the car BONE completly stock. this doesnt mean that modifications, done right, donot increase the value of the car. the value of modifications is a personal choice. while some may find more value in an FD with a single turbo conversion, others, like myself, would actually be less likely to pay bluebook for a single turbo FD. the same can go for bodykits. one may be willing to pay more for one with a veilside body kit while others may want to pay more for one with a 99+ spec conversion. like i said the value of modifications is a personal choice.

if your selling to private party then the price is up to them. but when you take a car to a dealership of some sort and it has aftermarket turbos or other performance mods it doesn't really increase your chances of getting any extra money for the car. of course if you sell private party not even bluebook really matters. it's what you're willing to negotiate with.

money 09-27-08 01:57 AM

well.. the max u can get for it.. is 9k. no more then that. so good luck.!
