how much is my car worth.
how much would a slightly damaged 1993 rx7 vr r1 be worth with 96k on the chassis. about 45k since reman install. 3" catback exhaust. 3" downpipe. apexi twin intakes. interior in 8:10 condition. runs great. has the ignition problem where it clicks a few times before starting. the body damage consists of the rear hatch. it got pushed up. it is straight but needs alligning. the drivers rear quarter panel was dented and has a shitty bondo job on it. the bumper cover will need paint as well. just estimates guys. i will try to post up pics later. the turbos were replaced about 30k ago but dont boost correctly. i have an act extreme kit and a tranny with about 50k ready to install. also a pfs with pink 9. greddy boost gauge. also a rebuilt title.

hmm, the primary factors that will make this car not very valuable are:
rebuilt title shitty bondo job on rear quarter body panel alignment issue ignition problem coupled with incorrect boost pattern bumper needs paint probably 6k maybe as high as 8k, but the rebuilt title will create problems for many buyers. Some insurance companies wont even insure it. |
well obviously the car will need paint. it has been in an accident. the rebuilt title is from 1996 not the recent accident. the ignition problem is the ignition switch and will be soon fixed. thanks anymore estimates.

For someone who doesn't know anything about the 3rd gen, I'd say 9K or 10K. If someone did their homework or was looking for another 3rd gen to buy I'd say 8K.
Just my opinion. |
Even if you fix the ignition and boost issue, I doubt you would get more than 8k. the rebuilt title will be your biggest hurdle. however, fix the ignition, boost issue, and paint and align the hatch properly... you would probably still only get 9-10k if you find the RIGHT buyer. but for an 93 FD, almost 100k mile chassis, with a rebuilt title.... i doubt that many prospecting buyers will consider buying it. mainly due to being able to get a non rebuilt title for just a bit more.
Sorry to sound so negative. I wish you the best in selling your car. Find a cutoff point in what you are going to fix and how much you are going to invest in fixing her up. don't overspend to the point where all you bought yourself was a quick sale, but ended up spending more than you increased the possible price point. |
thanks alot for your help. i would take anywhere between 5 and 6 thousand. anyone even wanting to part it out could make more money than that one it.
