How much HP would this be?
I was talking to Pettit today. They said a FD runnin the stock twins sequentially with intake, downpipe, midpipe, catback, intercooler, and their ECU would be at 400HP. Does this sound correct? If not please explain, an how off is it? thanks - Steve Prew

on stock twins??
i highly doubt it.. and without a streetport its harder... well actually you could on stock twins with original motor.. but you would have to keep a very good eye on all of your gauges.. |
that could be a generous flywheel hp number, probably not very realistic.
at 14 psi and a good motor, I think that lower 300's at the wheels would be reasonable. (320's maybe) there are alot of variables, so this is strictly a GUESS. |
he also said something about 15hp per psi added. 90hp?
|
was it cameron? I would trust what they say over there
that number was def not to the wheels 400 to the motor is ~350rwhp the pettit ecu can run 14.7 psi safely it's very possible you'll need a fuel pump and some will argue injectors to run that high of boost though |
15 hp per 1 psi is about right. A full exhaust, intake IC, and pettit unlimited ecu running 15 psi could hit 400 flywheel hp (about 325-335 rwhp) but is stretching. I'd look more realistically at about 310 rwhp and 360-370 flywheel hp with those mods. Each FD is different and can vary depending on boost issues, spark, and other minor things. Might want to look into upgrading the fuel system (fuel pump and injectors) if you want 400+ flywheel hp. People have hit 340 rwhp on the stock motor and turbos with all the bolt-ons but it's rare. Usually you'd need a streetport to get you up there.

i've hit 360 whp with the pettit ECU and 14-15 psi and all the other boltons plus a fuel pump.
|
well my motor is losing compression and i was gonna get a streetport when its rebuilt. do u think the pettit ecu is a good way to go when your only gonna be runnin bolt on mods? im 18 and this is my daily driver. so i dont have money for a single turbo, nor think it is necessary for me.
|
the pettit ecu is the best ecu period if you are not getting a single turbo
it allows you to run 14.7 psi and I don't think you should run any higher on the stock twins than that. I think it's perfect till you get a single turbo. Plus you don't have to worry about tuning and blowing your motor it always provides enough fuel for that psi. |
