How much does it cost to install new motor
I need some info on how much the grand total of a new engine installed and everything you need for it will cost. Thanks everyone

Any where from 3 to 5 grand depending on what u want to put in it.

well to give ya a base, its almost 1k labor from the more experienced shops (Pettit, KDR, RotorSports), while Mazda will charge anywhere from 2-3k for labor.
Average price around the states for a reman is 2200, with Malloy having the lowest price at around 1900. Figure 400-ish for a port job, and 100 or so for various belts, hoses, fluids, etc. just as twntrbo said, 3-5 is the average. |
try not to just get a mazda reman motor, but rather a motor from an fd tuner, like pettit. these are much better. u would most likely just have yours rebuilt and put back in = 4000$, just make sure you take care of the new one and itll last 4 ever.

3-5K is a good estimate.
If you do it right here is a breakdown. I might forget something but you get the idea. $500 clutch $150 new water and heater hoses $100 clean injectors $50 new plugs and wires $40 new fuel filter $35 new belts $600-1000 rebuild turbos ~$2000-3000 rebuilt motor (depends on source and mods) $150 misc gaskets $100 silicone vacuum hose job jeff |
this is a helpful thread im gonna rate it:)

$3500-$7000+. Some stuff usually breaks (solenoids) or needs replacing (motor mounts) so the total ends up being more than just the price of a rebuilt engine and installation. If you get a good shop to rebuild your engine and you want new housings and rotors, porting, etc. the bill adds up quickly. There are more than $5000 worth of parts in an engine if you need/want to get a lot of new stuff. The rpice depends a lot on how anal you want to be with the rebuild.

lmao, my fave, get the fulll rebuild with new rotors, housings, and what not. . . . 3 days later the car overheats bc of a clogged STOCK radiator :) always a fear of mine. make sure to throw in a price of a Fluidyne or a Koyo, so you wont waste your new investment. Or at least have the coolant system flushed, just for a lil bit of added insurance.

Get a new rad or at least check the condition of the stocker (looks good and you have a temp gauge). Jeff |
