You'll find a lot of multiple owners here because unfortunately many of them learned how to drive by crashing their first ..... or second ..... or third ... or ...

I'm on my 2nd one. I crashed my 1st one. :(
|
Only have one here... Would like to pick up a touring later on so I can enjoy driving a FD with a sunroof once in a while...
|
I'm on my # 3...flipped the first one, sold the second and keeping the third...
93 Black Touring 93 Montego Blue Touring 94 Montego Blue Base |
If i can barely maintain 1 i cant think of how i would a 2nd.
|
I would not mind having a Rex with a sunroof and all stock. Then I can have the R1 devoted straight to race.
|
On my second... Although the first one really :bash: belongs to goodfellafd3s... He gets the fun:bigthumb: ... I get the parking tickets!! :ar: Hell, what are dads for??
|
on my second. Had a base red 93 that was stolen from a movie theater in Yonkers, NY on Nov 2001. It had 18" racing hart c5 rims on it and a powerful stereo system in it. If anyones seen it lemme know.
Current one is a 93 mb base single turbo. Much faster but i kinda miss the stock twin feel. Loved to do autocross in it. joe |

Thanks turbojeff for making a rare car more rare. I'm on #2, #1 was stolen.

Originally posted by Air-Rex Thanks turbojeff for making a rare car more rare. I'm on #2, #1 was stolen. Eric Mark's (mcf) FD was the only one that was really saveable and I used some parts from it to save another FD. The other two parts cars I had were totalled in all aspects of the word. The white 94 is hit on both 1/4 panels, the entire rear section of the car is about 12" narrower than it was. Entire rear floor is wrinkled. The front end is perfect though, just waiting on a FD with front damage:). Jeff |
Hey Jeff, you're not thinking about selling your R-1 are you? CJ

Re: How many fd's have you owned?

I thought this might be interesting to some, but for most you'll probably be board. :o:
first purchased 1993 touring/stock, 42,000 miles, back in 1997, $21,000, totaled around corner, insurance paid $23,000, lucky break. Lesson learned, learn to drive car first before going around corners fast. second purchased 1993 touring/stock, 38,000 miles, back in 1999, $18,000, purchased PFS cat back, PFS air box, PFS intercooler, PFS pre-set computer, wrong offset wheels(recommendation of wheel shop), S02 tires, centerforce clutch, resurfaced flywheel, engine blew using 13lbs boost on race gas, never played with higher boost, sold car for $15,000. Lessons learned, engine will blow up with these parts, but will do 12.8 seconds at 115 mph for a little while, wrong offset wheels and tires will rip front fender out and look like crud, wheel shop employees generally don't know what an offset is, stock clutch will smoke with these parts, engine mounts will probably break if drag racing. third purchased 1993, touring/stock, 16,500 miles, in 2002 for 23,000. Hopefully I've learned enough lessons, but I couldn't resist putting on the down pipe(reliability) and buying the K & N air filter. I'm satisfied for now and drive the car with the respect it deserves. As a substitute to blowing up, and destroying things I can't afford I test performance levels of lower priced toys such as my NOS Go-ped on methanol.:) Go-ped, a must have for all Rx-7 owners |
2 FD'S
1993 VR Touring bought 9/1999 sold 9/2001 1993 CYM R1 bought 7/2001 I had 2 FD's for for 2 months. That was fun, paying insurance prices on 2 of these cars. YUCK! But seeing 2 nicely modded FD's in my garage every morning, priceless. That was a weird year for me. I owned 4 cars at one time. 2 FD's, 86 MR2, 84 300zx Turbo. And all were driveable. |
