How hard is it?

I have always wanted a fd even before i got my licence and after 3 fbs and now in a 95 integra gsr.

Just wanted to know how hard would it be to pick up a fd and run mid 12's?

How much money would it involve and what would have to be done?

well fds are going for pretty low prices right now
it depends on a lot of factors.

If you pick one up with a stock motor and a lot of miles and start modding it expect for the motor to get worn more rapidly obviously.

From stock to get a manual fd into 12s it is intake, full exhaust (downpipe, midpipe, catback), fuel pump, and computer and raise boost to 12 psi. I'm confident that if you get a 2.0 60 time or less with this you will be in 12s or there is something wrong with the car.

Intake you can rig yourself should cost 50 bucks or a little more for k&N filters
dp and midpipe I can get for 300 for both shipped
catback depends on which one but lets say 450
manual boost controller 25 bucks
used non programable ecu 400
used supra tt fuel pump 125

total = 1,350

there are also other reliability mods that you should do that will cost ~500 (the dp is one of these so I subtracted it from the price)

hell yea gotta sell my car now

love the rotaries

Getting a stock FD in the 12's is going to cost you more than $1350, bottom line. Your stock IC is a major problem when trying to reach 12's. I dont feel like getting into details but it will take more than $1350 to get into 12's on a stock FD, you'll see,

maybe I have been really fortunate then?

I think it is totally fine to run 12 psi on the stock intercooler for one night at the track every once in a while if the runs have a good amount of time between them. Give me a break look around for deals man and you can do the same.

you probably know more than me about rx7s since I am fairly new to them but I just don't see how it won't cost 1,350 to get into 12s if I just typed out a list with prices and have done this myself.

hey guys nothing to fight about as long as it's possible to do it under 3k.

I drive a gsr and taking a quick comparison i would be better off with a fd

Snook 10-30-02 12:44 AM

yeah there is nothing to fight about
when you get the car pm me and I'll get you all those parts for 1,350 :D
