How do I wire up ignition as direct fire?
so I just ordered some ign-1a coils..how exactly do I setup/rewire for direct fire? I searched and can't seem to find a "how to" thread. Thanks

Contact Sake Bomb Garage. He sells the harness you want

Are you still on he stock ECU?

you need to split up the stock 3 channel ignition system into 4 channels, which means reconfiguring the ECU and digging up the spare ignition channel in your wiring harness.

*gives you a strange look*
i don't even know how to answer that. if that is where adaptronic dumped all the auxiliary ins and outs then i suppose it is. the fourth channel should be in your engine wiring harness, hidden with all the other spare junk wires that were unused for the installation. you have an adaptronic, i assume it has a 4th ignition channel, it will be listed in your installation manual or on diagrams that can be downloaded from their website. if it's a plug and play ECU, you will need to figure out where the spare auxiliary input/output harness is. |

That would apply to the Select PnP, your Universal was a wire in. Open WARI/Eugene and open the manual, there is a whole section dedicated to direct fire installation (at least for the PnP units for sure). There's also several posts in the Adaptronic section of this forum where both Andy and Eliott have spelled it out for all models.

Looking at the 440 universal wiring diagram and manual. So I would just wire it all to the ignition outputs then? I see the 4th ignition output on the diagram. Just want to verify

There are some huge threads on the IGN1A (AKA AEM smart coils) on this forum. Some information is good, some information has been revised over the years. Do NOT gang all the grounds together at a single chassis ground point. This was the original recommendation, and over the year it's been determined to cause misfires at high boost. The current best practice for install is to connect the high current power ground directly to the battery; even if the battery is relocated to the rear bins. Ensure the I/O grounds are connected to the rotor housing in which the coil will be firing. |

yes, but you will need to reconfigure the ignition settings in the ECU as well.
Ill change the ignition settings under wari. |

I don't quite understand what you mean by "wire it all to the ignition outputs". Each coil will have a discrete ignition output trigger (hence outputs 1-4).

i used the diagnostic port for my 4th one |

You are not able to use that port with the 440. The 440d does not connect to the OEM dash harness, which is how that connector gets its signal.
If you open an E440D base map with your ECU you should see the E440D pinout in the help/documentation tab at the top. I have attached a screen shot. See this thread for further instructions; Adaptronic Select e440d Series 6 Rx7 Wiring diagram |

just find the proper pin on the ecu and go from there..
