How do I remove oil from under the hood?

I have some oil by the oil filter and I can't use my AC or heat anymore. The smell goes right through the vents and it smells extremely bad. My oil filter was a little bit loose and oil ended up getting all over that area. What is the best way to remove oil from that area?

buy a high power de-greaser...im a chef so i snaged a gallon of the oven de greaser..shits incredible......but purple porer de-greaser should work...just put it in a spray bottle..pull the elbow....mist let soak...wash off...repeat...should clear it right up..

carb cleaner works good for spot cleaning after you have it cleaned by degreaser. i think you just need to cover the filter with a plastic bag and use saran wrap to cover battery terminals and electronics.

Since your going to be concentrating on the area near the filler neck, I'd cover up the ignitors with a plastic bag. After you've got the bulk of the gunk out with the degreaser try using CD2's engine detailing system. It's a 2 part process, cleaner, and detailer. You can get it at most Pep Boys, Auto Barn, etc. The cleaner is pretty good for light dirt, and the detailer is awesome. Not greasy like Armor-All, but still puts a nice shine on everything.

Thanks for all the help guys. It's getting pretty bad now. Today I was driving my car and within a few minutes my car was filled with smoke, because of the oil. At first I thought my car was overheating, but it's coming from the oil.
