How do I clean this up?
 

So, I just picked up a used HKS wg. Good deal, so I'll have it when I can afford to switch to single in a few months. Buying everything piece by piece. Since it's used, it's showing it a little. Got some rust on the bottom section, where it connects to the manifold. My question, that probably shoulda been put in the single forum, is: How do I clean it up? I mean, is there certain products I should or shouldn't use to shine it up? I don't wanna use anything on it that will damage it. (Whether that's possible or not I dunno, that's why I'm askin) I'm not the brightest light bulb in the house, so I just wanna make sure I don't do anything stupid. Thanks for your help guys!

On a side note, if anyone reads this:
I'm having compression tested later today, but my tach doesn't work, due to my install of some VERY cheaply made indiglo reverse gauges and the one covering the tach makes the needle stick. Will that affect their ability to do the test? I installed the gauges over a week ago, just been too damn lazy to take it apart again to either get the needle workin or take the stupid things out.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Wish I had an answer for you.

If you want to take the rust off, just use sandpaper, a wire brush, or a wire wheel.

This works, but the problem is that is will rust again much quicker

Orange citrus cleaner and steel wool is a good combo that is a bit less abrasive.

Cool, thanks for the help. Think an autozone by my house sells that orange cleaner. I'll try pickin that up and some steel wool, maybe even just a toothbrush or something and see how that goes. All this rust is kinda surprising, makes me wonder if the guy I got it from even used a gasket inbetween, for it to be so dirty and have rust. But unless he's a complete idiot I'd think he'd notice the nice exhaust leak that would make. :)

The rust may just be surface rust - which isn't an issue.

all i got to say is CLR...........CLR available at most, smiths, albertsons, Raleys, Vons, Home DEpoT, Sav-Ons, you get the picture....

Steel wool will work, if you get the scrubs that are pre-greesed or whatever it should help it to not come back so quick
