Hood Vents

Lining in Las Vegas requires more attention to keeping an FD3S cool in the summer.
I have a Fluidyne radiator and my next cooling upgrade is Crooked Willow's dual oil coolers in March.
Also I've wrapped my M2 downpipe/RandomTech pre-cat in ThermoTech tape.

To make matters more complicated I'm adding a Pettit large intercooler,(battery is already moved to cockpit pass. seat storage bin.), an Apex-i ECU, M2-style airbox,
larger 2ndary injectors and a bigger fuel pump for a hoped-for 300 hp. This is later this summer if XS Engineering can fit me in.

But I still need to vent the underhood area.

SOOO, I have 2 or 3 ways to go:
1. have my original aluminum hood vented at each rear corner W/ 4 or 5 vents about 4" wide. (Sort of standard hot rod style vents done at a custom body shop.)
2. Buy a VIS hood of CF & fiberglass W/ 2 large vents just behind the intercooler.

The "Hot Rod" vents at each rear corner vent the turbo heat but will they vent the intercooler enough?
Will the VIS large dual vents help any with the turbo heat venting?

i have the mazdaspeed style hood and it works awsome. actually picked up a 1lb of boost from the cooler temps under the hood. It was like it was running in the winter time lol. I like mine and I'd recomend it.

Any kind of pressure relief from underhood air, that builds up once gone through the Rad & IC is good, will those small holes create a significant negative pressure field, to suck air through, probhably not. Do you "Need" a N1 or Scoot Hood, probhably not either, but then again unless you beat on your vehicle on hot summer days, 2 oil coolers is probhably not neccisary either....

More vents = better
Your Judgement as to how much is "Right"....

Crooked Willow is no more. I strongly suggest Rotary Extreme's kit, my temps are almost too low in ANY kind of street driving and they stay very reasonable on the track, even in 100F heat.
