HKS Twinpower questions

A few questions:

1. Is everyone that has a HKS Twinpower delighted with it?

2. It is pretty much a plug and play installation, uses the stock coils, no extra/new coils needed?

Thanks,

Mike Parsons

Twin power is great. Well worth the money if your car is modified and running higher boost levels than stock.

On a side note, how do people like the Jacobs Pro Pack? I just became a dealer for them and can get those really cheap.

I like mine. It enhanced throttle responsiveness, got rid of upper rpm hesitation and it feels like it added more power.

Nice small package, easy to mount and it took only ten minutes to install. Buy the harness.

Yes to both questions. Works great.

I'd go with the HKS unit..I've got one and like those above, throttle response seemed crisper, but at WOT, I couldn't tell anything. On the dyno, it was apparent that it helped out on the top end with ignition break up on my car. Added HP and Torque through out my rev range.

I plan on doing an hks or msd. I had a jacobs pro pack,
and it would eat spark plugs- too much imo. It finally
died and I took it off. I would not recommend jacobs
for any street driven car, drag only -I highly recommend.

My Jacobs Rotary Pak burned up two stock lead coils. I replaced the single lead coil w/ two Crane LX90 coils and located them to the BMK at the stock location. I'm making serious fire. I'm not saying the Jacobs is better than the TwinPower - but what good is it when the stock coil is weak? I'm running 10.5 plugs and they're clean. If the TwinPower isn't burning up the stock lead coil, then how good could it be?;)

All the Twinpower does is mess with the signal to coil causing it to fire longer

I heard the twinpower is pretty good. Strong and reliable.

On a side note I have the ULTRA ignition amp. I just have the single set-up for it even though they make a twin just for the Rotary. I burnt up one of my coils shortly after the install, never a problem again. The coils are strong with the same voltage/amps all the time, you mess with it it will weaken them. So if you put in MSD, ULTRA, B&M etc... be prepared to change the coils soon.

HKS isnt all the powerfull, and wires different to make it stronger.

I shot this pic earlier this year
