hks manifold and borg warner S256 fitment
 
just bought the hks TO4S Turbo Less kit 11003-AZ002ZZ


I am looking for a turbo Now ...

Does the borg warner S256/177268 will fit the hks to4 manifold ?


stock port , looking for around 400 hp , quick spool...

Post a pic of the downpipe? If its already got a flange on there, then you will need it cut off, and weld a "marmon" vband flange on there unless you buy the turbo from a company who has either welded a regular v-band on there or machined it to suit.

PS - the stock "marmon" flange that comes on the BW turbo is very reliable. (from what iv read more-so then a standard v-band due to the marmon flange having a tapered face). Its standard equipment on some very heavy duty diesel equipment where downtime costs a shitload of money. Catterpiller trucks, John Deeres, earth moving equipment etc.

I kept the standard "marmon" flange with my BW turbo. I got the flange & clamp from himni racing.

what about the BorgWarner S300SX 8375 Turbo S360 , fully divided T4 inlet and 0.91 A/R. with a 3" V-band ?

I would suggest it above the S256. I have not looked at the maps but I would assume the S360 is much more efficient at that range.
That, and its easier to go to a "bigger turbo" i.e the S363 or S366 if you want to as they are physically the same size, so downpipe etc will bolt straight up.

If you go with the S2X series, your stuck with the max the S2x series can provide unless you modify your downpipe to suit

All the 300 series BWs will hit the strut tower with that manifold. The S256 and S258 will fit without issue.

The EFR 7670 is available as a EWG free float turbine housing( to be used with an external wastegate turbo manifold).

It will fit with zero modifications.
S300 sxe will not even come close to fitting.

My only concern about the efr with ewg is the boost response ( 1.05 a/r)

EFR is the best, bar none.
If your not worried about the cost of the EFR then definitely get it. Id get the 8374 if it was me, but anyway. (I dont know if it will fit with your setup or not)

From what I have seen, the EFR will blow everything else out of the water as far as responsiveness goes. Its simply the best.

Only minor problem with it is the price. Its just out of the price range for some people. I would throw my airwerks in the sea if someone wanted to replace it with the EFR, lol

The airwerks turbo's are good turbo's and at a price point. Im very happy with mine.. the EFR's though... those are in a whole-nother class :icon_tup:

You cannot just look at turbine a/r when determining response. The 7670 is the fastest spooling turbo that will fit an HKS manifold. I would know I have even used a 50 trim To4E on one before, and the 7670 is still faster!

I do wonder if that lower PR cast wheel will make more power than the EFR at low boost on normal pump gas. Has anyone done the small EFR on just 93 octane and not running a ton of boost or on ethanol?

Looks like the 7670 ewg1.05 is
the way to go, with my hks manifold/fd.
What about the egt?

I have found it at around $1750 .
Any better deal?

HERE IS THE HKS KIT(without the turbo...) , compatible with the air pump , that I PLAN TO USE WITH THE EFR 7670

let me know if a part is missing to install the efr 7670 1.05r ewg

the downpipe will need to be cut & positioned correctly for the 7670, and the appropriate vband flange welded on.

you might need some turbo oil feed/ drain fittings & maybe coolant line fittings. not sure of the specific thread sizes etc of the fittings included in that kit, but id be surprised if they were all compatible straight out of the box. Factor in some misc fittings/ hose etc

Also do you have a good fuel system and ECU already? You will need those if you dont already have them.

I have an apexi power fc, apexi 3 bar sensor, hks twin power, hks evc 5, supra fuel pump, plan to run 550cc and 1300cc secondary, sard high flow cat, rb dual exhaust.
still have the nur spec /blitz exhaust in a box...

Just make sure you have a clutch and intercooler upgrade too. As mentioned you will need a 3 inch vband and clamp welded on to your downpipe. You will also need to make some cooling lines as the efr is water cooled. Oil feed should work, but oil drain flanges are different.

I would also recommend some bigger secondary injectors. Not sure exactly how much power that injector setup would be good for but im fairly confident you will be cutting it pretty close.
IMO one should build their fuel system to be able to supply enough fuel for the max air the turbo can flow..as a safety net.

The other stuff should be all good
