hks fmic- worth it?
im planning to buy a hks fmic that is used for the stock turbos. can somebody tell if the hks fmic is worth it? or should i go for another brang like blitz or greddy?
thanks for the help guys!!!! |
Well, IMO don't get Greddy #1. I would go with HKS, they have good stuff and I like their intercooler. The other FMIC I would look into getting is the apexi FMIC, they have a stock setup also.

it depends on how much boost you are going to run on the car and if you are gonna stay with the stock twins. i would pretty much get the cheapest FMIC you can find if your gonna stay with the stock twins. if you are going to push more then 15psi i would suggest getting a 3 row FMIC over a 2 row.

i think the greddy looks the best, i have the 2 row. check out the apex-i intercooler it has a better core.
|
I agree that the Greddy looks the best as well. It sits right up front but can be a pain to keep clean :D
|
Are there any real gains over the two? I am looking at getting rid of a Blitz SMIC and droping in the Apex-i unit. Will that work with the M2 intake system?
|
i think that the HKS and the APEXi sit back further and don't have the heat problems like the GReddy.. i wouldn't get a GReddy FMIC, i had one.. and it blocks too much air. Friend has an HKS i think and his fans never even get a chance to come on.

apexi and blitz are eaiser to install then the HKS and greddy because they sit further in the car so you do not have to trim your front bunper.

i have the apexi fmic , so far it has been great ,it mount pretty easy it looks great (core design looks awesome),and i have run 20 psi on single turbo ...no problem
only problem i got now is i had to cut it to custom fit it for my 3-rotor ,ouch that hurt , but its just the tanks and i should have them welded on later ayways |
