high lumpy idle

yes another high idle question. well here the deal my idle is steady around 2.2k, when the engine is warm it bounces to about 2.5-2.2. It will continue to do this until a electrical load is put on like the headlights, then it stays at 2.2k. a couple of months ago i fixed a vacuum line but nothing. since the battery has been disconnected and reconnected. **no mods other than DP** i dont think there is a uim or lim leak or other vacuum hose leak

have you tried adj the idle with the cable or maybe your gas pedal is sticking also their is a idle adjust screw on the upper intake manifold

lilroach 03-13-04 11:49 AM

no but would that have an effect on it bouncing

how long has idle been like this?

in anycase, you should lower your idle. first find leaks by spraying starter fluid on all joints, when idle jumps or goes up a bit, you found your problem. have a fireextinguisher near by and be careful of spryaing near turbos after warmed up. if that does not work, try to figure out how to lower it by disconnecting idle control systems one by one untill you find out what it is. here is a list of stuff which might effect idle.

dashpot
ISC
AWS
Wax rod assembly
fast idle screw
the airpump solenoid

oh yeah, what vaccum are you pullingat idle?
