high idle
it seems my car's idle right after startup has gotten higher with the colder temperatures. when i started it today, at about 18 degrees outside, the idle shot up to about 2Krpms and held there. i know on cold starts the aws systems idles the motor around 3K, but i have a pfc and that wire is no longer connected.
any reason why the car would do this? could a vac leak somewhere be causing this? and also should the aws be blocked off? |
Desmond,
This is normal. It is not caused by the AWS, but the wax rod which acts like a choke. You can adjust it for a higher or lower rpm. The adjustment screw is on back side of the throttle body near the firewall. The head of the screw is almost facing the ground, it is spring loaded. |
