HID's: Blown Fuse Plz Help

I will give you a quick run around of whats going on. I was replacing my lenses today and readjusting my HID's. HID's were working fine as usual until I noticed one side went out. I found that it was one fuse which went bad or was burned. I replaced it and it happened again. I ended up going thru an entire box of fuses that would also burn out when I turned the HID's on. I tried using diff fuses, 15-20-25 and they would all burn out, 30 wouldnt allow the other one to turn on. I took the wires apart and rewired them again, still no luck. Please I need some help with this situation, I dont know what would cause this. I hope you guys will supply me with a solution or fix... Thanks as always!

Hmm...well when you blow fuses I believe that means that something is drawing more amps than the fuse can hold. It is not a good idea to put a bigger fuse in, because that may let you melt/kill your wiring.

Possibly the ballast is going bad...or you have a wiring shorting out somewhere exposed.

When you say a wiring shorting out somewhere exposed do you mean there is open wiringthat should be concealed?

if you have an extension cord powering a light, but the extension cord has a frayed spot; if the hot and neutral wires should touch each other, it would short circuit the power cord.

which light kit do you have? I recently has some issues with the Korean made Kaizen (sp?)... One of the light went out and after all the troubleshooting, it was the cheap inline fuse they used.

In your case, I saw there is a short somewhere... if you are using stock pop up, it might be getting caught with your lift mechanism.. check the wires carefully!

The kit I have is based on Proluman.. I have the clear Wise Sport lenses on the pop up headlights. I dont think its because of the pop up movement, I have used so many fuses and they all keep blowing. Maybe what jkinluv said is happening "the extension cord has a frayed spot; if the hot and neutral wires should touch each other, it would short circuit the power cord."

So whats my solution, can anybody offer away to fix this problem.

My electrical knowledge is mediocre but here is a website that give a bit of info on continuity and resistance etc.

My cousin thinks its the ballast because it was working fine until the car was turned off. When I turned it back on suddenly that side didnt work. All the wires are covered, just dont know..

It was a defective ballast
