Hesitation and stuttering in the TOP END few questions???
 

Ok guys heres the mods non sequential twins, full 3 inch exhaust,apexi gt spec catback,full intake,apexi avc-d boostcontroller end few other irrelevent mods. Heres the deal I have the boost set to 9-10 psi on the boost controller. When I hit it take first gear up to redline no stuttering....2nd gear at about 6800rpm the car stutters and hesitates...shifting into 3rd all the way up to 5000rpm its fine 5500rpm stuttering and hesitation starts if I hold the gas to the floor it then picks up smoothly to about 6500 and then the stuttering and hesitation starts up again until I shift into 4th gear havnt held 4th WOT yet but I am sure it will happen in that gear too. I was just wondering what these symptoms could be and how to fix the stuttering. Has this ever happened to anyone else....plugs hopefully?! Let me know.

could be ignition break up, try new plugs & wires

fuel is probably out of the equation then....is this common for the FD to have ignition breakup at stock boost levels?

I experience ignition breakup at 12psi already. But usually new plugs take care of the problem (until you run really rich again, sigh).

But change your plugs often - like 5k miles. And change your plug wires if you havent done so already.

Also, there have been problems with the harness going to the ignition coils. The early harness can break and fray over time, causing high RPM misfires.

The updated harness is around $80. If it's not the problem, it's a good idea to install anyhow. I plan on updating mine at some point as preventative maintenance.

I had the exact same problem you described, literally word-for-word. It turned out to be a broken solenoid and/or vac hose(s). I would suggest doing a visual inspection first of your solenoids and vac hoses. If you haven't done silicon or viton hoses, now might be a good time to do that. Good luck.
