"Shift feeling where the feeling which is made the fast shift change where it is by dog change system, click is good is feature."
man i would hate to use one of these in a street car, wonder if they make a snychro mesh one

911GT2 01-29-04 11:22 PM

Did anyone read the babelfish translation of the description at the bottom?

Heres a favorite quote from it.

Also the entering of 0 missions is satisfactory. When you saw it seems that is not rainbow everyone of oil.

cpa7man 01-29-04 11:44 PM

I want one.

vosko 01-29-04 11:57 PM

i needed one of those so bad for my old car...

BATMAN 01-30-04 12:01 AM

Typical japanese translation.

Much like the biblical chat on the side of some rice cars.

BTW, that's a sequential shifter right?

widebody2 01-30-04 12:09 AM

anyone know the yen conversion to US bucks

LetsGO7 01-30-04 12:41 AM

Batman, pattern of H when shifting is satisfactory.

Widebody2, Overseas it does not dispatch, however, 242,000 converts to 2300 u.s. dollars.

BATMAN 01-30-04 12:49 AM

Hmmmm.

I might have $2300 to spend.

Wonder what shipping and import duties would cost....

Also, if this thing breaks who/how would i get it repaired??

rynberg 01-30-04 01:01 AM

It's the same HKS 6-speed dog box that's been out for years. Have any of you ever driven a car without synchromesh? It sucks and IMO, is not streetable. (I know, I know, old manual cars didn't have synchromesh but who says they were fun to shift....)

A six speed tranny is totally unnecessary in our cars.

rzograbian 01-30-04 01:07 AM

GOD!!

c00lduke 01-30-04 01:23 AM

If you look at the ratio, would you really gain anything over a stock tranny besides strenth. I think 6th gear on this might be higher then the FDs 5th. I would rather have something that has like a 6th on the T56 trannies, just a highway low rpm gas saver gear.

not to mention pretty much any car that doesn't see alot or track use. it's just another 2 times you have to clutch and move your hand, which wears out on you. (god i'm tired just thinking about it, lol)

jspecracer7 01-30-04 02:26 AM

Fuck that....I'm thinking about buying it.

vosko 01-30-04 10:35 AM

umm i broke 3 trannies is 7000 miles on my FD. hell yes i would buy that

XSTransAm 01-30-04 10:50 AM

6 speed is too much rowing if you ask me, and that extra shift is only gonna slow you down in the quarter

except when you are on the highway going 75ish and your rpms are at 3k for hours at a time. Its not too fun with a full exhaust. Not to mention the piss poor 15mpg imagine having an extra gear to throw it in right there. It just feels like its ready to be shifted into one more higher gear but theres nothing you can do.

BATMAN 01-30-04 12:01 PM

one thing to keep in mind.

if that thing breaks.... who and where and how much in repairs????

POM HB 01-30-04 12:41 PM

jspecracer, buy da gut dang thing!!!!!!!!!

You might be one of those who live in japan and really know 'why' Japaneses use this....why hks makes it!

Here's the math on the gear ratios...

FD w/4.10 R&P, stock tires
1st - 3.483:1 - 14.28:1 final drive
2nd - 2.015:1 - 8.26:1
3rd - 1.391:1 - 5.70:1
4th - 1.000:1 - 4.10:1
5th - 0.719:1 - 2.95:1
Cruising, 3rd gear, 30 mph - ~2,300 rpm
Crusiing, 5th gear, 70 mph - ~2,800 rpm

FD w/HKS 6-speed, 4.10 R&P, stock tires
1st - 2.733:1 - 11.37:1 final drive
2nd - 1.984:1 - 8.13:1
3rd - 1.548:1 - 6.35:1
4th - 1.246:1 - 5.11:1
5th - 1.000:1 - 4.10:1
6th - 0.807:1 - 3.31:1
Cruising, 3rd gear, 30 mph - ~2,600 rpm
Cruising, 6th gear, 70 mph - ~3,100 rpm

Two obvious observations...
1. Your gas mileage will decrease.
2. It wasn't intended for drag racing.

jspecracer7 01-30-04 01:29 PM

Jim, can you run those numbers but with a 4.777 final gear with 17" 275 Nittos?

I'm a drag racer...I break shit a lot...dogmissions aren't easy to break since there really is no "misshift"...that's the only reason I would buy it.
