Help! Window won't roll up!
 

Ok, so the window in my 93 rx7 won't roll up. I pulled the door panel off and when I push the switch there is no noise coming from the motor. I really don't care that the window can't be used, I just want the damn thing up.

Is there any kind of manual crank on the motor itself? Or how do you guys reccomend to roll the window up without the motor.

is the lock on the drivers side set? does either switch work? do you know if it is getting any power? if it is getting power and wont move wack it when you throw the switch and see. if it gets power you need a new motor.

No the drivers side lock isn't set. That was the first thing I checked ;).

The drivers side switch works for the drivers window, but not for the passenger window. Neither of the switches work for it. I am not sure if it's getting power. Which prongs on the plugs would I put my multimeter on to test if it's gettng power or not?

Either way, is there any way to put the window up without power to the motor? Can I manually roll the window up somehow? All I want is to be able to close my windows so my girlfriend doesn't have to freeze her ass off. I'm such a generous boyfriend :p:

you could run jumper wire to the 2 wires going into the motor if it goes down more reverse the wires.

the motor itself only gets 2 wires going into it. the switch just flips the polarity with a multi meter hold the switch and stab the 2 wires it should read 12v or -12v.
reverse your leads and try it pushing the switch the same way, i dont want to assume your meter will register the neg. if it is the motor give it a good firm whack, maybe you will be lucky

Check to see if your switch is physically broken. I broke mine and it would roll the window down but not up, so I wired both to the driver side one because it burned up my passenger side down switch due to being stuck in the down posistion.

It works great, rolls both windows down automatically, at least until I broke the driver side switch also, now I have a key shoved in the switch to work my windows...

This seems silly but it wouldn't be the first time the passenger side didn't work because the dissable switch was acidently pushed on the drivers door. Check it and make sure it's in the correct position for operation, then double check the door plug for moisture or corrsion, this is where the connector from the door plugs into the chasis/body. our 93 MPV has done that before. the switch was dirty so i just cleaned it. worked perfectly after.

There's a fuse in the fuse box (15 amp IIRC) located above the foot rest that when blown, it will cut power to the Passenger Window ONLY. It will not effect the driver window at all. Check it out before you do anything else to the door.
