Help removing cooling fans ?!?!?

Hey....

I have the radiator out and the shroud off as well. This may be a completely stupid question, but I spent the last 30 min. searching with no answers.....

Is there a trick to getting the fans off??? I removed the retaining bolts, but cannot seem to pull the fans off of the motor shaft.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

When I had mine out a couple of weeks ago, I tried really hard to get the fan off with no success. I planned on just swapping in a fan, but ended up using the whole fan assembly that I bought. So no, I have no idea how to get them off.

When I rebuilt my engine, I painted my fans and the shroud and the motor casings to make everything look new. I had no trouble getting the fans off the motor shafts.
Try a little PB Blaster and then lightly grip the shaft with some Vise-Grips whilst rocking/wiggling the fans. There might just be a bit of corrosion that made them "grow together".

thanks, I'll give it a try.....

It almost looks like they might need a "puller" or something, but as long as you had some success I'm sure I'll get it eventually.

bump... any other suggestions??? does it need a puller ???

You don't need a puller. Once you undo the bolt on the front of the fan, spray some WD40 down the shaft. Let it soak in and then pop it with a rubber mallet hammer gently.
