Help pressure plate removal

as you can see in the pic i pulled the motor but i cannot remove the pressure plate. I do not know much about transmission stuff so what do i do? do i have to go uder and pry or is there a different way?

There's a release collar on the other side of the pressure plate that you need to separate, you can see it thought the inspection plate on the bell housing, which by the way you should have done before you pulled the tranny out.

thanks, i'll take a look at it tomorrow. i left the tranny in place however.

you did not have to unbolt the pressure plate from the flywheel. all you had to do is take a long flat head screwdriver and pop the goldish o-ring clip that sits around the pressure plat springs (as seen through the access hole on the bottom passenger side of the trans).

Good...I find the collar will release much easier if you leave the bell housing bolts till last...Have fun...lol

The way you have it right there in the picture, move the clutch fork backward toward the back of the car which moves the collar forward, then gently pry the large "snap" ring from the collar. After the ring is removed the plate should slide off the collar.

But you need to understand how this collar works. Watch the video
