HELP...non-seq twins to T78.....

I am putting a T78 in my FD and I currently have the stock twins non-sequential, what will I need to do to get the piping right for the T78, I know that turbo will sit higher so I am thinking I will need a new piping arrangement. also if anyone has any tips on installing a single, let me know, I have a pretty good Idea of what I am getting myself into but I have never actually performed the install myself (twin to single) so any warnings or advice may help. Here is a pic of the current set-up (not the greatest picture but a general idea)

I think it's better if you try posting on "Single Turbo RX-7's". :)

Here's a good idea of what's involved:

I assume you have all the supporting mods to support a T-78?

do stock twins non-sequential spool about about the same as a GT-35R?

You could most likely use your exsisting piping. After you have the new turbo bolted on, just cut your piping to make it fit. You will probably have to use a 90 degree coupler for your turbo.

:uh:
Do you always answer other peoples questions with another question that has no relevance to the original topic?

it has relevance imo, this person is converting from non sequential to single, and I'm considering a similar change...what's your problem anyway? and what's this "always" crap?

HAHA that's great!

Improved FD 05-07-06 09:03 PM

to be honest, you really have to wonder why anyone is still running an old school T-78 (which is very laggy imo) when there are much better turbos now available, like the 500r

I know this car ! ! ! ! ! Glad to see it still around and looking great as usual. I personelly think a kit would be the best route/less of a headache and bugs worked out.

I'll see if I can find out for you. When evot23 owned the car he got the mesh from Tom, another local Gainesville FD owner.

LUPE 05-08-06 05:27 PM

I'm not scared to ask.........

Where's the pictures at, woman?

KaiFD3S 05-08-06 05:27 PM

Why are you going to change the IC? I believe the Blitz IC that you have should work fine..

r1rx7girl 05-08-06 06:14 PM

I dont plan on changing the IC just the piping, I have the twin turbo greddy 3 row and the piping I have doesnt match up with the turbo, and there are no local shops here to custom make it for me.

oh and what do you mean by where are the pictures at?
