Help me identify this pulley

I have search and there are so many pulleys that I dont know which one I have.
the car came with it when I bought it in 2012. I cant see any markings on the pulley to make it easy to identify.
its aluminum anodized, purple.
see pics..
thanks in advance.

Hard to say, there are a ton of aftermarket water pump pulls out there. I don't think it's anything special.

Why are you trying to identify it? Trying to sell it or trying to find what belt to run with it?

I will be getting idler pulley, but i have a mixed of stock, silver underdriven main and alternator and this purple one.
I actually like this purple for the bell contact ridges and no many pulley kits has that.
also belt selection is a pain.
thanks for replying Dale.

Is the Banzai similar to this one?

speedjunkie 12-31-18 12:36 AM

I have one identical to that except it's raw aluminum. I got it on eBay probably about 12 years ago, just a no name pulley.

Red94fd 12-31-18 02:39 AM

Thanks for reply speedjunkie, I am going to make it easy for me and get banzai pulleys and forget guessing belt size.

Looks like a Greddy copy. Do you have the matching alternator pulley? If not it may be difficult to find the correct belt. I recommend the Full Function idler pulley with any setup that removes the air pump.

No, this is an underdrive water pump pulley that is a copy of the Greddy pulley from their kit.

Thanks for identifying the pulley

this is how my turbo stands, really high and out. I am afraid that FFE idler wont fit even If i turne the compressor housing clockwise.
engine it's getting slowly rebuilt and a few things change, but this is what I have to work with.
I wish I had a better pic from top view.
thanks..

Pineapple racing makes an idler for your exact situation. It sits completely behind the filler neck. It's literally called the "big turbo" version of the pulley.

Red94fd 12-31-18 01:00 PM

Cr-rex, thanks for your input. I have seen those bearing failing, but I dont see any other option in my case, hopefully I get lucky with the one I get. And I will have to get a new pulley set, cause it drives me crazy to see three different types of pulleys on one car.
thank you all..
wish you all a great New Year...!

cr-rex 12-31-18 01:52 PM

The bearings fail due to user error. It's well documented that it's always been user error.

Red94fd 12-31-18 03:56 PM

Banzai, what belt is needed if I order the Pineaple racing BT with your pulley set? I dont have AC.
thanks

cr-rex 12-31-18 04:27 PM

Go to the pineapple website and look

Red94fd 12-31-18 05:10 PM

Got it , underdrive main and stock the rest.
thanks..
close it..

speedjunkie 01-01-19 03:31 AM

To get a belt size I just use a measuring tape, the kind to measure your waist. Gets me close at least.

I got a Pineapple Racing pulley years ago after the bearing on my Tweakit pulley seized up and shot the pulley off under the car and bouncing down the road. The bearing on the Pineapple pulley either seized or started squealing (I can't remember which) a couple years ago and I replaced it.

cr-rex, what user error are you talking about with the bearing failing? I've never heard of that. I didn't even know it was a common problem, I thought mine was the only one.

Red94fd 01-01-19 12:54 PM

He might be talking about over tightening the belt leading the pulley to failure due to it.

cr-rex 01-01-19 01:21 PM

Yes exactly.... all the cases of the pulley failing are followed up by them saying they had the belt too tight. Pineapple even tells you how tight the belt is supposed to be

speedjunkie 01-01-19 02:51 PM

I used to over tighten the belt but I haven't done that for years. Sometimes it's actually too loose to where the belts squeal when I first start the car.
