Help Installing Profec E-01

I am helping a buddy of mine install a T88 Kit on his car. I am hooking up his boost controller and have a few questions. I have read that you dont have to hook the Profec B to the Fuel Preasure Regulator Line, you can just hook it to a vacum line on the UIM. Is this the same for the Profec E-01. If not true is there any other spot to hook up to the FPR line besides under the UIM? Also which wire on the ECU has the RPM output?

The Profec E-01 is virtually untested on RX-7's on this forum. Almost everyone goes with the standard Profec B.

That being said, I will how ever step out on a limb here and say that yes, you can hook it up to the UIM.

You will have to be the ginny pig on just about everything else on this install. Take pictures and do a write up when you are done. Good luck.

That role is already taken. I have a Profec E-01 installed. Yes you can hook up to the UIM and no you do not need to route it to the FPR. As for the RPM connection, unless you are planning to hook up the E-manage unit, I do not think you need the RPM connection in the ECU to regulate the boost. In any event, I can get you the connection, but I am at work and the connector diagram I have is at home. Thus, you will need to wait until tomorrow unless someone else can post before then.

Ok so I guess I will be hooking up the pressure sensor to just the UIM. Why would Greddy instuct hooking it up to the FPR? Also I will need the RPM wire cause my friend wanted it mounted on his steering column so it now blocks his tach. Thanks for the responses, I will get some pictures up soon.

You will not get the tach readings without the E-manage. Sorry guys. I realize the instruction manual is for s*&#, but read it carefully and you will see that you need the E-manage for the tach readings to be shown. As for the FPR, I suspect in other vehicles the FPR is the most obvious source for manifold pressure. In the RX-7, you have a solenoid in the loop, and though I think it would still be an okay source for manifold pressure, it may interrupt the boost during switching. In any event, the extra nipple on the UIM is just as well and far more accessible.
