Help installing pettit intake (pics)

Yeah I know its dirty.

Having trouble fitting the seporator in it and finding the tab on the radiator shroud that it is supposed to fit into

Is the seporator supposed to go under the coolant hose? because that is in the way and it doesnt even let me fit the piece in there

so I guess my questions are

Where does the tab on the seporator piece go

and how do I fit that piece in there

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n/MVC-004S.jpg

The radiator hose is right under it, according to the pics the front goes on the left side of the fuse box

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n/MVC-003S.jpg

Is this piece the right shape (angle)?

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n/MVC-001S.jpg

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n/MVC-002S.jpg

Where is the radiator shroud where the tab goes?

thanks for the help

I bought it used so I have no directions and the directions I found are only words.

First, that heat sheild its bent to shit.

Your last picture is where it goes- in between the hose and the body and the tab goes on the rad. shroud in the middle.

one last question I got the kit installed now what do I do with the hole going to the inter cooler?

Could I just cover it with some mesh grill? Is water aloud to get inside or would I have to create something that makes it so no water gets in?

You can use a sheet of aluminum or for a cheap temporary solution: duct tape.

jdskin 05-13-06 07:09 PM

Is that the only place air enters through? or is there another hole where the IC gets air?

You just want to cover the hole on the top of the IC duct where it used to send air over to the stock intake.

Does anyone know the part numbers for the k and n filters for this kit? Want to purchase these filters locally, not through pettit. Any help is appreciated!

The permanent solution is to cover up any holes in the IC duct, that aren't being used, with aluminum sheets riveted to the duct. Same thing I said earlier.
