Help! Installed hid's = turn signals turn off headlights
I installed my HID's with the correct plug n play wiring harness. the lights work great! BUT If I flick on my turn signal... my lights plop down and turn off as if I turned them off. If I go back to normal (not trying to turn) lights pop back up and hid's turn on as if nothing happened?!?
Help! I live in socal. I don't need to get pulled over and get the dreaded..."pop your hood for me" thanks |

I dont run a PFC. Signals go on. Now my headlights only go on every now and then. I have to turn my right signal on and then go to the normal position and then my headlights pop up. This is ridiculous. Issue didn't exist before.

That is really weird because mine went in without hassle.
Do you have a multimeter so you can poke around? |
Awesome. Now im getting no power to headlights period. We checked..there is no signal now period. Turn Signals work, caution lights work, But I'm getting no power to the headlights. They won't even flick up when turned by switchin mount on steering wheel. The push button switch on dash works fine. but no power to headlights.

Sounds like a relay may have fried. Check fuses and relays. As mentioned, you may have drawn too much current through. Though I don't know how they get wired in.

Have you tried to swap back the old lights and see if that fixes the problem?

We checked and there is NO signal going through the stock bulb connector. So it'd be irrelevant to swap old bulbs back in.
Have you checked the car battery make sure it's in top shape? Maybe a dumb question but worth checking. |
Luckily the head mechanic of the performance shop I work at... was Mazda's Master Tech for 20 Years. Its the combo control switch for headlight mechanism. If we trip the wire with a ground....headlights pop up and turn on. Everything else works except for that...so... I'm just gonna leave a wire hanging away...and whenever I need my headlights on at night. Gonna pop the hood and trip the ground until I pay 200-300 bucks for the combination control switch. Pfff ridiculous. Thanks guys.
