one of a few that you would find if you looed in the faq. just scroll down and you will see the post from jimlab. The car needs mods done to help the heat issue, thats whats causing alot of motors to pop. The car is not really something you would wanna daily drive, gas is a bitch and the car is pretty old. Its more of a side car to be honest with you.

yea i am in college and it is my daily driver........ i cant say that i dont love driving it but at the same time these cars have heating problems and when i bought it there were sighns of it extremly overheating at one point in time so taking care of that problem would be a first for me. The things that i have been told to get to make sure that the car is what you want it to be is a boost gague (make sure that the boost doesnt spike) and then all of the upgrades for the cooling system along with a temp gague cause the stock one might as well not even work. Another thing that we have dont here depending on were you live is to lower the coolent ratio to like 20/80 or 30/70 which provides better cooling and also the protection from the cold during the winter. But yea i am still learning every day about mine so keep up the reasearch and make sure this is what you want, cause i have put alot of money into mine already and i like it but you always want more stuff for it haha

well its sorta going to be my daily driver but i only live about 3 miles from school and i dont go anywhere else much...its the fact that i love this car and alllways have, its going to be with me for a while after i get it i would like to goto collage and specillize in being a rotary mechanic...its all so its a big fuck you to this kid that his mommy and daddy bought him a 2005 wrx and hes a really big cockhead showoff about it...i want to show him that hard work is way much better than handouts and that rotary kicks ass

ive got a 94 integra as my actuall daily driver so i think the gas bill would even out owning this car

I'll be the first to say it---you're too young, wait a few years. If you want an rx-7, look into an n/a fc.

My younger brother is 20 and a very responsible driver, but i only let him drive the car when I am riding shotgun. FDs have a habit of swapping ends and hitting things like trees and curbs when you have young inexperienced drivers behind the wheel.

(Btw, I am 29 now and bought my FD when I was 21, and I am surprised I didn't crash it back then......)

opinion

ok here's my opinion
reasons listed are as follows to stay away:
1. 20k for 93 mint car 4 years ago with 28k miles on it
2. 8k in turbo upgrades
3. 8k for ls1 motor after blowing up that expensive motor
4--and all other maintenance and tires in between my total is upward of 40k
5. too young
6. learn how to drive first
7. do scca a while with a rwd car so u don't fall in the category of morons who wrecked 1 of these beatiful machines not knowing how to handle them
8. i hope you love working on cars because believe me it aint easy

with all said make the smart choice wait--but if money is no object and you feel you won't be stupid with it --good luck it is an amazing car and i would not trade it for the world

Even though i am a 21 year old, i do have to say that i respect this car cause they are quick. And yes please say if you are going to buy it that you like working on them cause they are a great time to work on haha. Just think about it and make sure this is what you wanna do, and if you do get it i hope that you love it cause they are amazing

GoodfellaFD3S Aug 14, 2006 08:38 AM

Not just because 'they are quick.'

RWD + stock sequential twin turbos + inexperienced driver = FD spinning out of control

adam c Aug 14, 2006 10:07 AM

Since you are in high school, you should not buy this car ........ PERIOD!!! Get something else until you are 25.
