HELP! Fans not running on high
My fans will not turn on high, I was wondering if anyone had this problem. could it be the 226 deg. switch? or the relays? is there any way I can bypass the switch? I did the fan mod(grounded the black wire behind the computer) and there is no change.

someone has to know something

If neither of them are going on high chances are it's not the motor and not the relays. Take off the thermo switch and check the resistance across it while dipped in boiling water, look for the specs in the shop manual. If that checks out, swap you ecu with someone and see if anything changes.

why do people do the pull the wire inback of the ecu trick??????? come on guys, do the real fan mod which allows you to turn on the fans manually by grounding the fan relays!

Yeah, skunks has the right idea, if you have a real racer this should be done.
|
so you are saying that if I do the real fan mod, that I can just bypass the fan thermo switch perod? cause I was checkin today, and my fans dont work at all unless I have the ac button on.

There are many ways to do the fan mod. I'm not sure about doing it the way skunks had mention it unless there is information missing. If you do the fan mod by adding a manual switch to control the fan power relays you'll have to watch the temp all the time to know when to turn the fans on and off. You will bypass the thermo switch, but it would be a pain in the butt trying to manually control the fan.

Just turn the fans on low when you start the car, that's what I do. BTW: Turning the A/C on is one way to force the fans to turn on low. I use the A/C to turn the fans on low and 2 other buttons to control low/medium or medium or high (after the A/C is on, my low/medium buttons turn to med/high buttons).
