help with exhaust removal
i got everything off .. except the last rear rubber bracket .. its being a bitch and wont come off .. any tips on removing it? like should i remove the rubber bracket from where it connects to the car itself or remove the exhaust where it connects to the rubber bracket? or does the rubber bracket come apart in pieces?

The "rubber bracket" is basically a hanger for the exhaust that sits on two pins. It takes some work, but you should be able to coax either side off without thrashing the thing to pieces. Try sticking a screwdriver between the pin and the rubber hanger, and spray some lubricant in there.

Reinstall with a little grease. :)

Some people stick the rubber hangers on the exhaust side first then attach the rubber hangers to the car itself...I hope that made sense :)

If you have a pair of channel locks, with the wd, they come off with some work. If all else fails, cut the one of the outer edge where one of the metals hangers goes through. Then use a coolant hose clamp around the whole rubber deal when you reinstall it. I did that after I cut one of mine. It works for a long time until you can go to mazda.

good advice guys thanks .. gonna go work on it after a nice nap

Yes, put wd-40 on it and it should come off.

Just mix a little liquid dish soap with water in a spray bottle. Squirt a little in the hole and it will come off easily.

got it off with good ol wd 40

When mine were stuck I sprayed some WD-40 on them and then clamped a pair of vice grips just behind the rubber hanger. Then I pulled the hanger off with a screwdriver by prying between the vise grips and the hanger.

Heheh mine were stuck and I shredded them with shears :D
