Help ... Engine will not STOP
 

I have a 1993 Rx7 that I recently installed with a Greddy Turbo Timer
with Harness. I also have a Clifford G4 Alarm System.

The Greddy Turbo Timer is turned off. I started the car and it will not
turn off after removing the key, disenaged the battery cable and it
still was running. Finally I had to pull the Relay Fuse off.

What's going on...is it haunted? lol

Did it do this before you installed the turbo timer ? ? ? PS. removing the battery cable with the car running won't shut it off because the alternator is suppling the power.

Engine Won't Stop
 

First time it happen. The Turbo Timer is new (7/2006) but was turn off.
I turn off the Engine with key, remove the key,
and it still ran, then I remove the negative cable, it still ran and
finally had to unplug the relay switch.

UNhook the TT and see if it works correctly. Just because there new doesn't mean they will work correctly.

turbo timers are stupid

Its opposite day.

+1 uninstall the TT and check if the car shuts off properly.

My guess is something conflicting with the TT and Alarm. Did you use a harness specific to your vehicle or did you splice the wires into the harness?

If you read the manual on your alarm it says something about a built in timer circuit, maybe that has something to do with it?

Guess your one of those people that dosent believe in heat soak?

To answer one of your questions, I did not split
the wire harness, I had a sepcific harness for the Rx 7.

turbo timers are a waste of money and time, rip that bitch out and patch up the wiring that i assume is bad ;)

Cuz NO ONE READS. ALL OVER the forum, it's posted clearly DO NOT USE TURBOTIMERS lol.

Depends on what you want it for. Since everyone on here thinks there a waste of money I was able to pick one up extremely cheap (far less than a voltage gauge alone)and use it for what iIwanted (a voltage meter with set points) since our ECU's work off voltage's from sensors when the alternator acts up or begins failing these cars act very strange and knowing the system voltage has been quite helpful. The one iIgot takes up less space than a 52mm gauge and it has other features as well. To each his own. Any one else have one they want to get rid of cheap ? ? ?

My car came with a Turbo Timer so I used it. Then, one day, I had exactly the same problem-car wouldn't stop. After going through various routines I managed to stop the car. Later it did it again. I pulled out the turbo timer wiring and was able to use a test meter to prove that the turbo timer was conducting current to the ignition even when it was switched off!

Note that the in my case the timer continued to supply ignition current even after I stalled the engine, (ignition lights on, etc.)! However, if I stalled the engine and then disconnected the battery, there was then no voltage source for the ignition and, of course, the current stopped. If I then reconnected the battery, all was well and back to normal.

My diagnosis is that there is a firmware glitch inside the timer that puts the processor in it into a strange state where it does not respond properly to the off button. Once power has been completely removed from it (stall, then battery disconnect, then battery reconnect), the timer's firmware resets from start and all goes back to normal.

Reported this to manufacturer but got no success. Surprising, as this is a fairly nasty problem, but..... Seems that firmware bugs are a pretty common problem in a multitude of modern devices-even happened on the Mars Lander!! Time industry fixed this, but I digress.

Stopped using it and didn't replace it - not so keen on it anyway. Suggest you do the same.
