help with engine install (pics)
so as many of u know i had kahren rebuild and port my motor back a few months ago. i got it back last month and was planning on having a local friend of mine who is heavy into rx7s just not on any forums help me put it back in. i had everything organized ansd such from when i pulled it and took everything off the motor. in theory i should have been cruising the highways as we speak
one hitch after about 3 hours of work my friend split and is now no where to be heard from.. he left me with a LIM rats nest injectors and exaust manifold half installed. didnt feel like waiting after not hearing from him for over a week so noooooooow.. im kinda on my own. thats the backround heres where im at.. i got the rest of the turbo system on, theres no air pump or a/c so life got a little easier. no emissions on the car i removed and used BOPs for the air pump hard lines and the little actuator thing on the LIM.. most the engine is together and on the cherry picker suprisingly and im almost ready to put it in the car but there are a few vac hoses i couldnt figure out and come harness clips and odds and ends thats where i need the help. pic 1 is that thr right place for the water temp sensor? and if so haha i cant find the clip from the harness for it pic 2 is this for the a/c? i dont know where it goes pic 3 yellow clip for what? and this vac hose eventually mayes its way back to where the fuel lines are... what is its purpous where does it go #4 - studdless cant get the stud to go in i thik inner threads are toast #5 - which one (2/3/4) goes to arrow 1 and where do the remaining go #6 - what do these normallg go to.. haha im hoping they were just emissions stuff someone tell me otherwise http://www.nopistons.com/forums/inde...=post&id=33166 http://www.nopistons.com/forums/inde...=post&id=33167 http://www.nopistons.com/forums/inde...=post&id=33168 http://www.nopistons.com/forums/inde...=post&id=33169 http://www.nopistons.com/forums/inde...=post&id=33170 http://www.nopistons.com/forums/inde...=post&id=33171 http://www.nopistons.com/forums/inde...=post&id=33172 http://www.nopistons.com/forums/inde...=post&id=33173 |
pic 1 - #1 is the oil pressure sensor, #2 is a coolant line.
Pic 2 - probably the A/C connector if it's on that side of the engine, cant tell from the pic. Pic 3 shows the main harness connector, you cant miss it. Do a search for the vac hose diagram, it will tell you where the hoses go. |

Where in NY are you? I'm in Orange County, if you need a hand this weekend I'd be glad to come down. Me and a friend did a Reman in an FC, but it was also NA, lol...much easier I'd imagine. Nonetheless, good luck, sorry to hear about your friend ditching the project... |

Hey I understand how busy life can get...I'm sick of being busy 24/7 +1 right now myself...ugh.
When we dropped the new engine in, we had the Tranny propped a bit "upwards" to sort of mate with what it needed to as the engine was lowered, slowly...pain in the arse... I'm free this Saturday, whether or not we actually get stuff done or just BS about FD's...:P You in LI? |

yea im in LI, saturday im off at 6 and i live pretty close by so maybe we can meet up ill update on progress through the week, im running out now to a couple hardware stores then mazda before work then hopefully ill tighten everything up when i get home later. im getting so excited about this crap i love it

anyone know if u can mate the engine and tranny before molting the pressure plate to the flywheel then doing that from the service window?

How do you plan on getting the clutch alignment tool in there? To answer your question, no you can not do it that way. Just put it on before bolting the trans back up. |

the idea would be that the clutch plate doesnt need to be aligned since it will already be resting on the teeth of the input shaft and u just need to get the shaft towards the flywheel |
anyone know what that is
