HELP: Eccentric Lock bolt
 

HELP

I'm trying to take off the Eccentric Lock bolt and I am having a very difficult time. I'm questioning the threading on the bolt, does it need to go counterclockwise or clockwise to be removed? PLEASE HELP ANYONE.

lefty loosy righty tighty...btw it's a 54mm or 2-1/8" nut torqued at 300 lbs. get an impact gun

Its not the Flywheel side its the pulley side. I've got an impact gun, it refuses to budge.

that sucker is on there tight. I tried an impact to no avail. we finally got it with 3 guys holding the engine stand and one big guy wrenching on a breaker bar with a 3ft cheater bar. specs are around 180ftlb IIRC, but i'm sure it took MUCH more than that to get it off. Also, be VERY careful that you don't move the ecentric shaft when it's off

Heat it up with a blowtorch and then bust it lose with an extension on the end of your wrench/driver.

Counterclockwise just like any other bolt on the car...

Get the LONGEST bar you can get on there. One time I used a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar with a 6 foot pipe slipped over the end of it. That took care of it pretty quickly :)

Some times they will come off if you heat it. My mechanic hates to do that, but if it works. A new seal will be needed. A truck repair could not get rotorbrains off with a 1200 ft lbs air tool. Garfinkle heated it and put a big pipe wrench on the socket with a 450 ft lb air tool. came off, zip, zip .Rotorb holding the motor ,Garfinkle s son with air tool, Garfinkle with pipe wrench .

I was scared when the guy at the workshop brougt out his big-ass impact gun, first time ever he had to use it he said. But the 13B refused to give in..... :D
Wouldn't come of until i blowtorched it..

Is it on there with some sort of thread lock compound? The heat probably just cooks/breaks down the thread lock.
