HELP: Driver side window button broken

My driver side window button for the passenger's window will push down (to roll the window down), but when I finger-pull it up, there's no response from the passenger window.

The passenger window controls work both ways -- window up or window down.

It seems like the switch underneath the button has been depressed and is not coming back up, perhaps? Any idea how to fix this?

Get a new switch is my guess. Mine is the exact opposite of your problem. My driver side won't roll down without manipulation of the switch (I have to pull "UP" on the passenger side while pushing "DOWN" on the drivers side, and then only once in a while it works that way). Just get a new switch, and it will probably cure the problem. I need a new switch too.

Check your passenger side window control button = if that button is slightly depressed either way the driver's button won't work

Mine broke in that same way 2 days ago, i took it out and took it apart but the problem was too deep inside of the switch to fix so i put it together and back in place and now it wobbles around in there. anyone know where to get new ones?

The little pushrod in your driver's window switch is broken. You need a new set of driver's window switches.

Ok i know the cure. if the switch works for it to go 1 way but not the other and the drivers side works the window both ways. Before you take it apart just get wd-40 and a tube tilt the window switch to the down position and spray the wd threw the top get it good and try it out let it get in good and let it soak in. This worked on a few on my cars including my fd. I just did it now and it is like bran new.

my driver side switch broke too... so i ripped it out and realized that this small plastic wall, that held another retanglar piece of plastic, broke. Usally when nothing is broken pulling the switch back it moves the retanglar piece (picture a seesaw) and that pushes aganist a contact point and triggers the window to move up/down. Anyway supposed the switch normally looks like [] under the switch, but mine broke became ] only, thus only being able to go down. So, i took out the whole switch assbembly (?) it's only being held by 2 clips. Unscrewed a few screws, took out the loose plastic piece and krazyglued it back togeter. Another note, watch out for the smaller white plastic dowels and the spring they are tiny.
Now my switch isn't flush with the other one, (i forgot to put the spring back with a dowel, and for some reason i had two dowels and put everything togeter and thus it sticks out) but it works perfectly. kinda wished i took some pictures but its really striaght forward after u rip off the switch)
