Help! Coolant leak (Evans waterless)?

I bought my first 3rd gen about 3-4 months ago, so I have to admit that I have little experience with rotories in general.

I went to start my car this morning and the idiot light for the coolant came on along with the buzzer. I went to checked the cooland and to my surprise, I can't find any. Everything look empty, although everything looks a little wet. I can't be certain of the last time I checked the coolant, but it has always been fine when I have before.

The radiator looks okay. The lines, from what I can see seem fine. The engine bay is pretty clean so I figure that i should have been able to see any coolant leaks.

The AST has some coolant in it at the bottom, but it has a cloud of brown flakes in it. It reminds me of that bars stop leak, but I can't imagine a newer radiator having to need it. Is this normal?

My car is a 93 with a fluidyne radiator, aluminum ast, and is said to be using evans waterless coolant (its yellow-orange i think). The mazda oem engine has about 24,000 miles on it. The temp. has been staying between 90-110 deg C.

What do you guys think is going on? Where has my coolant gone? What do I do next?

How low does the coolant have to be for the idiot light to come?

Can I add water to an evans waterless system to check for leaks? (i don't have any extra coolant at the moment and i'm stuck here at home).

Could there be a more serious problem with the engine?

Or is it just that i'm a complete idiot and coolant in rotories slowly disappears?

One way or another i really could use some help.

Thank you
Doug Hillyer

No!

Probably OK for Evans Hmmm

Well in a 0 pressure system it shouldn't go anywhere but soundlike a leak

About 6 oz, sensor is at the bottom of the filler neck

Ca I add water to an evans waterless system to check for leaks?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!

Could there be a more serious problem with the engine?
Maybe

do a search on coolant leaks or coolant buzzer/light. there are lots and lots of threads about this.and if you cant find your solution there, then come back and post again.

Really just check your radiator upper and lower, also your turbo hoses. I bet it was one of those, hate to see someone put stop leak in the cooling system though. I wonder what it would do to the evans.
