HELP with boost issues.....
 

I am experiencing some odd things in 1st and 2nd gears. I am kinda new to the FD so if these are stupid questions someone just tell me and that will be the end of it... I am not getting any boost in 1st gear. And also in second gear when I get to the turbo change over at around 4300 then I loose about 5psi of boost and then it does not respool all the way to 10+ psi. Boosting pattern is normal in 3rd and 4th gears. Is this normal? Also, after the turbo change over in 2nd gear it sounds like the motor bogs down and then after getting back down to even near 3K rpm it is very difficult to get the boost to spool back up to past even a few psi... This has me pretty confused. While at idle I have ~17inHg so I am not inclined to think that there is a vac leak, but could something be hooked up wrong?

Could be a boost leak. Check all your hoses, vacuum lines, intake and intercooler tubes. Follow that troubleshooting page tiger18 posted a link to.

thanks, ill take a look at that page. long story short, i dont get any boost above 4500rpm in 2nd gear and no boost in 1st gear. it does not appear to be a vac leak b/c at idle i am getting a perfect 17inHg vac. thanks for the help
