Hello..

Hello im new to the forums and ill like to start by saying "Hi" to everyone. Well lets start. Im currently 18 years old and i liked the second gen up until the 3rd gen came out ever since i been wanting to get one. That is the only car i would get before a bike(yeah im a sportbike fanatic well 50/50). My friend told me that me as a graduate working at $7 an hour(hope to get a better job) won't be able to keep that car, with the insurance and everything is too expensive(such as brakes and such)but i wan't to know this from people that actually own Rx7's. I currently found one going from 15k a 93 but the miles on the car are not listed, this is a dealer. Pretty sure private sellers won't let me pay little by little so therefore i have to buy it from a dealer. Next question are they hard to find like in dealers ?, used car dealers ofcourse. Well i hope to learn alot about the FD in these forums. Thankx again.

At $7 an hour and at age 18 you might have a hard time financing this car... Especially at $15k from a dealer... It is pretty costly to maintain an FD, there is a lot of little maintenance and some common problems you will encounter... As far as insurance goe sit's all about your insurance company and driving record and you WILL have to have full coverage if there's a loan on the car so it might get expensive... Do your research first for a while before you make a decision... You'll wanna know what to expect!!

This car is very expensive to maintain. I would highly recommend you do not get it while in the financial situation that you are in.

I am 18 years old and work 2 jobs that both pay $10 an hour. At 7 dollars an hour you are going to have a very tough time paying for this car. My father and I have the same First and last name and middle initial so when he insured the car under my name they assumed it was him so I am only paying $63 a month for full coverage. Unless you caught a break like me you could expect to pay A LOT :Kill2: more for insurance. Your payments will also easily be above 300 a month, my FD was a little over 10k and I got a decent (9.59%) interest rate and my payments are about 325 a month. I am not even into a month of ownership and have dumped quite a bit of money into the car.

I would HIGHLY recommend you think about getting a 2nd gen if you are dead set on a rx7, until you get a better job and have saved some money for a daily driver and enough to buy and maintain an FD.
