that just about got all my questions except the tellness thing. anyone here 6'1 in a fd?

There was a thread about this some time back, I'd have to search to find it if I was to post a link to it. And searching to find it would be doing your job, so yeah :)

Just so this post isn't entirely useless - your bro might want an FD without a sunroof, because the sunroofs reduce the amount of headroom.

There are some very detailed discussions about large-tall people in FDs; they can be found bz a search.

I'm ´6-1 and I fit, just barely. Your brother needs to sit in one to know.

Tell him to go sit in one. Although, I'm 6'2" and fit in mine with no problem at all. I have a very thin build though.

He can get in, but on long drives it gets uncomfortable for your neck and back.

You just have to sit your butt in the seat first and then rotate your legs in under the steering wheel. I'm 6' and it's a snug fit, but comfortable. Bad thing, it's hard to get your wallet out of your back pocket and access most drive-thru teller machines or fast food windows.

Good point. It's difficult for me to get my wallet or a ringing cell phone.

The lack of tilt steering adjustment makes leg length a major factor as well as height. The sunroof models make headroom a little tighter.

there was a thread a while back about a guy that is 6'7 and fits with a helmet on...no sunroof and very low mounted racing bucket. if it's a stock seat, it'll all depend on what proportion of his overall height is his torso. if he has stubby legs and a long torso, it'll be a tighter fit than long legs and a short torso. like everyone else said, and the answer i've been given (i had this same question, still searching for the funds to buy a FD, i'm 6'4) is to sit in one and see how you fit

Oh... I also got myself a 320mm Momo wheel which helps A LOT. And its also much nicer to drive with compared to huge stock steering wheel.
