Heat hazard sensor location?
Can anyone tell me the exact location of the heat hazard sensor referenced on page B1-b (junction B1-19) in the electrical manual? I want to know if it's:
1) under the center console 2) under the passenger side seat 3) somewhere else The illustration in the manual isn't very helpful. The reason I ask is that according to my datalogging, this switch is turning on and off very rapidly, suggesting to me that it's fried. I have heard that this switch can cause the car to go into some kind of "limp" mode, and I've been experiencing some very odd problems with my car recently. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, -ch |
I would think the sensor relates to the cat converter, thus its likely on or around the unit. I am a bit new to FD however I have a Ca. smog license and 20 years of drive ability experience. Normally the reason a cat overheats is due to a rich mixture or a lot of hard excelling in a short time. Don't take this info as if it was a sure thing but its likely.

Under the pass. side seat. Pull back the carpet.

Great, thanks. Do I need to remove the seat first? Thanks,

I'd have to look through the shop manual (which you might want to do, it's all in there) but I believe it just primarily lights up the warning light. It MIGHT have an input to the ECU, if so it could reduce power. Again, 5 minutes with the shop manual will answer that question.
Regardless, it's a useless circuit. It's simply there for emissions regulations. Dale |
There is an input to the CPU. I was hoping someone knew what it did to the engine.
Thanks for your input. |
